The Surface of Reality
was discovered by accident as many of the most wondrous things are. One day in my small, dusty workshop there was a glimmer just out of the corner of my eye. That one peek was all it took though.
Once you cross over they say you can never go back… and so it appears to be true. Two realties merging: The past and the present working together to create an entirely new possibility born from both but also neither.
These new possibilities are born from carefully selected images out of paintings from previous centuries. They come into the present, finding themselves on canvas once again, given a new life in a radically different context allowing them to reimagine themselves.
From this new vantage point they look out at the world anew offering an invitation. An invitation to see them in a different light and thereby to see ourselves in a different light. An invitation to see beyond The Surface of Reality, beyond how things have been and will be. An invitation to the illusory nature of all that is us.
